On 26 February 2009 the Secretary of State issued a direction under paragraph 1(3) of schedule 8 to the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. The effect of this direction was that, from 26 April 2009, all the policies except 3 of the Plan were ‘saved’ and continue to apply.  The 3 policies that were not saved and therefore no longer apply are policies R1, R1A and EM1F.
