To put the Plan objectives into effect, three core policies have been identified. These are set out below and will:

•  Guide the broad location and nature of future regeneration and development in Knowsley;

•  Ensure that key environmental assets are protected or enhanced; and

•  Specify the key qualities to be attained by new development.

4.2

The three core policies establish the underpinning priorities and principles of the Plan. They will apply to all development types, and their implications for individual topics are then developed in greater detail in subsequent chapters.
