1. Profile
a) Population - 3,886

2. The main planning issues are -
a) High demand for new housing and its affordability.
b) Preservation and promotion of the Harbour as a commercial leisure facility.
c) Demand for a new secondary and primary school.
d) Re-development of brownfield sites.

Community consultation has raised local concerns about secondary school students commuting daily from the Tay bridgehead to Madras College in St Andrews, and there has been a groundswell of support for a new secondary school to serve the communities in the Tay bridgehead area. The Council is working to create a School Estate Strategy which, in turn, will inform a rolling programme for the future development of school buildings and lead to the identification of education priorities across all of Fife.
