1. Profile
a) Population - 2,426
b) Role - Relies largely on RAF Leuchars to support the local economy. There is scope to broaden job opportunities by providing land for new investment in the local economy. The Local Plan identifies land for mixed-use development including business, housing, and community facilities which will make a positive contribution to the villages and attract some of the house-driven development pressure from St Andrews. The Council will work with the Ministry of Defence and Scottish Enterprise Fife to consider positively potential commercial development on land at RAF Leuchars identified as surplus to operational requirements.

Henderson's Meadow Masterplan Proposal Pr42
Fife Council will produce a masterplan and development brief for the residential expansion on site h56 and the employment land on site e7. It will aim to integrate the development with the rest of the settlement, address design, layout and massing requirements, identify suitable locations for proposed open space and any other community facilities.
