| Cameron is a rural parish whose Community
Council has often expressed a desire for new housing development to
bolster local community services and rural life. There is no identifiable
cluster of buildings around which to draw a development envelope but
the dispersed community is served by a community hall. Ideas to provide
rural affordable housing have been considered for Cameron and Kingsbarns
and suggestions emerged during community consultation in preparing
the Local Plan. Cameron is not identified as a location for new greenfield
housing on the basis that it does not meet the site selection or sustainability
criteria applied by the Council. More suitable development sites are
identified elsewhere but there may be some scope for development on
brownfield land at Cameron crossroads. The draft Local Plan invites
views on that as an option. |
