| FOREWORD |
| |
|
| As Chairman of the Development Committee
I have closely followed the progress of this, the Borough's latest
Local Plan and I am honoured to write this foreword. |
| Over the past eleven years, since the previous
Local Plan was adopted, planning policy has changed and development
pressures in the Borough have increased. |
| The adoption of the plan on the 28th July
2005 represents a major achievement for the Borough Council and I
look forward to seeing the proposals being implemented prior to the
adoption of the Local Development Framework. |
| Erewash Borough Council does not stand
still and will, over the plan period, evolve and develop. I am conscious
that this Local Plan will not be the last word on planning policy
for the Borough. Already I can see new forces for change emerging
for which we will have to develop new policy responses. But we shall
strive to create a balance between living and working, between conservation
and change, between traffic and the environment, which makes the Borough
the success that it is. |
